WOOO. What an awesome weekend! SDCC was awesome and crowded out the wazoo as always. I landed in town on Friday and fought my way through the crowds to the booth just in time to see Megan Fox(meh..) and Josh Brolin (YAY GOONIES!!!) do a surprise signing at the WB booth. At first I didn’t register who was causing the commotion until the announcer was talking about them and people were melting outside the booth.
As Charlie Brown would say…Good Grief.
I was however, quite please to see the cast of True Blood milling about up in the WB Celebrity Subway Loft. (Every day WB brought in these huge boxes of Subway which looked really good in comparison to the convention center concession grease-between-a-bun or deep-fried-grease-on-a-stick. Lucky bastards.) Anyway… my GOODNESS Eric the Vampire is tall. And quite lovely in that black suit…<3 Not to mention Bill and Sam…oh yummy.
Tara and Lafayette looked great…Tara is ripped. O_O holy cow. Inspiration for me to hit the weights for sure! (I don’t know many actor/actress names…I’m sorry…
) Miss Paquin looked great too and they had Charlaine Harris there as well!! That was a really neat touch. She was the first in the signing line. It must be really something to see her books and characters come to life like this and then be thrust into the middle of the fan following and craziness that is SDCC.
This year’s massive WB prop was a giant tumble weed fort from Where the Wild Things Are. Pretty cool! They weren’t pushing many movies I noticed…It was a lot of tv shows and such. OH OH OH. OMG. Yes, that’s right. Saw Joshua Jackson too. Heehehehee. I had the biggest crush on him in the Mighty Ducks.
And my friends always called it Pacey’s Creek instead of Dawson’s Creek.
So yes! Lots of eye candy this year!
Our next door neighbor was a riot. She had security by the balls and kept bitching at them when WB would clog our aisle. That’s the only unfortunate thing about our placement…when WB has anything going on, people clog the aisle and our booth front becomes the only passable lane. I had several customers and friends get swept away by the crowd while we were talking.
That brings about food for thought about redesigning the booth. I think we can come up with something really fun for the coming conventions. We also met with the owner of a very impressive company that designs trade show displays. Some of the work they had done just blew me away. So hopefully we’ll be able to work with them.
Waaaaai and I was able to get some really cool swag! I was able to snag a Pokeball from the Pokemon booth which they were only giving out to kids.
And also I got the Harry Potter WB swag bag with my boy on it!!!!
In my opinion he should’ve been in Draco’s foreground position but at least he made the bag.
I also picked up the SDCC Limited Edition 25th Anniversary My Little Pony!
I wanted the Junko Mizuno one but I’ll have to get it online. I got to see Owly and his girlfirend and gave him a Happi Plushie and he drew a pic of Owly and Happi together!
I also got a very special gift from a friend of mine who just returned from Africa!
Lots of posters…a signed pic from the voice actor of Charlie Brown (from the tv series). I saw Leonard Nimoy (Spock) at one of the booths as I was running back to mine from Snoopy…
And now that I think about it, I don’t believe the giant Jabba statue made it to SDCC this year! O_O I didn’t see him where he usually is! Maybe they moved him..? Anyhow, pics are coming. I took several of Bumble Bee and the camero as well as the Green Hornet car and lots of other stuff.
I think that’s it for now. *^__^* Lots of projects in the hopper and surprises on the way…new products, animation and things in store for the site that I’m really excited about.

Don’t forget! If you are on the East Coast, Otakon is this weekend in Balitmore! Come see me at the BeKyoot booth, numbers I011 and I012!
Happi at the Lake & Baltimore
Nu illustration です!!!!
I really don’t know what happened…but suddenly the hills were Bunny Menace and they were all over. This was originally going to be an entry into a contest with a dream theme but I could never put my finger on something for Happi to visually dream. Here he is still dreaming, but I think this leaves it more up to the viewer as to what. Regardless of the dream, special things start happening around Happi.
I worked for quite a while on getting the water right and am really happy with how it turned out. *^_____^*
In other news, we set out for Baltimore and Otakon tomorrow! If you are going, please stop by the booth and say hello! BeKyoot is at I011 and I012!
In the Shade
Just finished this illustration of Happi and Mo together chillin in the shade. I’m really happy with it.
I’ve been wanting to do something with this pose for a long time…I drew it originally back in January.
Otakon is coming up next weekend and then right after that is SDCC. It’s going to be quite busy! I’m hoping I’ll have time in between or while on the road to work on a new flash game and some other illustrations. I also really need to finish the Monsters and Mushrooms story arc on my webcomic before it gets to Halloween again.
Sheesh. Also working on animation of Happi and Mo… I need a couple extra appendages and an auxillary brain.

Free Kawaii Wallpaper Friday です!!!
I’ve been meaning to finish this sketch for a while…I’m doing a full illustration of them asleep under a tree, but I figured since I’m running late anyway I should make this my Friday post.
And I’m not sure why everyone is suddenly falling asleep…could it be my subconcious telling me to go to bed earlier perhaps?

Hahahaaaaaa whoops! Alright so if you’ve noticed that all of my June wallpapers were down…gomennasai!! I had the brilliant idea to try and combine the two different gallery systems I have running on here and instead of copying files over from one to another I just moved the major wallpaper files and poof! There they went, breaking my inline links in the process. -.-;;; Everything should be back in working order now.
I’m going to do my Expo coverage blog tonight and will have some extra freebies to post as well. I’ve been riverdancing with new layouts for both Kendra and my blogs for a while, and I’m hoping to send those live sooner as opposed to later. I’ll also be making large leaps of progress on the webcomic and animation projects…so! Yay! Back to work.
