Woo! Back from Expo! It was a little weird this year. There were a lot of industry missing from the floor and not really much media…the ‘Expo Energy’ was just different and I’m not sure what to attribute it to. Location maybe? I read a lot of people blogging on the LACC making them nervous and about the pretty large distance from hotels (cosplay reasons). SPJA.org published numbers topping those of the previous year and I’m really skeptical as to whether those are right or not. I talked to several other dealers that were noticing the same things I was. But at any rate, it was still an awesome and fun show. I debuted Celebration Cupcake and we sold out of several sizes and got some really good feedback on her.

Pedro from OmoshiroiBlog stopped by the booth and covered us for his Anime Expo Special blog which turned out really awesome!! He covers a lot of neat stuff so please go check it out!

I KNEW it was going to happen too! As soon as I went to bed I knew they were going to release some cool stuff and I’d miss it like I missed the loli crown during the wedding event. RAGE. but anyway. I love boots… especially really high ones…so yes my boot collection is growing on Pupe…and I’m starting to understand this as a vent for my secret addiction to really pretty loli dresses and putting together fun outfits with reckless abandon. I collected almost all of the event dresses and kept changing in and out of them And then I found some really cool shops/designers like Mary Magdalene. but where the heck could I wear something like that except at an anime convention? Though a lot of MM’s stuff is more understated and possibly doable if the fluffy underskirts were nixed…but…;_; ok I’m going to shut up now. No I’m not. I finally found out that you can’t change your eyes on Pupe once you save settings on the opening screen…but then somewhere else mentioned being able to change them for 100 ribbon? I’d love to change mine because my pupe looks perpetually annoyed at the little yellow pupe bird and it’s really irritating!

All of this is of course R & D *coughhackNOTADDICTEDcOUgh* for my own special project that well be releasing in parts very soon. I had originally not wanted to do it in Flash, but…my experience with Pupe has really revealed a growing appeal to use that tool as opposed to something like the Gaia avatar engines/display that are always static. Nothing against pixel dolls…my first love has always been the clean and simple lines of vector drawings and flash opens up SO many avenues…anyway. Back to work.
