Making the Kyoot Scene

We got the email a day or so ago announcing the big move from December to September for NYAF. I dunno how to feel about it. I really liked seeing New York in the Christmas season, but putting the convention in September would be so much cheaper on hotels and stuff.  At least they were nice and didn’t put it on the same weekend as AWA…it’s the one right before. Blargh. But that’s ok.

Movement is happening on the plushie front! I’ve been saying that for ages, but it actually is happening now! I’m getting ready to submit my prototype sketches to the manufacturer and in a week or so I should have pics of the sample before we go into production! Yaaaaaay! Just in under the wire too. We should have them in time for the summer conventions with the debut set at Anime Expo.

Meet Evil Poo. He is sad. more resolutions coming…and yet another new character. i’ve had too much sugar today! WEeeeeee!!!

 Ooo!!! wait a minute I think I’ve got something cool here! Can I get a wallpaper gallery to show up? YAAAY!!! I did it!!! i think? maybe? not? I feel like such a dork…and then there’s a bigger dork inside telling me i did it wrong and that I’ll regret how I set up these galleries later. much lulz 4 u. >_< Gor…ok! I think it works. I hope it works. These are 1600×1200 versions until i get the others done.

OMG!!!! I’m so excited!!! I’ve got 3 brand new designs coming out!!! Bags, aprons, and chicks tee’s for all of them!! Cloud Bear is coming and so is Dancing Mo and then a super kyoot surprise for number 3!!! I’ve got to put up the preorders this weekend and get the art finalized. I’ve got a great idea for the surprise one…Cloud Bear i’m still working on. More wallpapers are coming and so’s the content for my tutorial section. >O< I’ve got so many links and awesome things to share…I feel guilty everytime I open up my bookmarks. I’m a tut whore…I would spend HOURS just trolling through the internets during college reading tutorials. I even took the time to collect all of the texture tuts I used during my CG classes all into one massive word document. I had a an absolute awesome prof for both my CG and webdesign classes…I really wish my logins still worked so I could go in and sniff around at the class resource and link list again. That’s how I find/found many of my favorite art technique books. I’d periodically go back and check up what my favorite prof’s were adding to their reading lists…incidentally there’s yet another blog I’ve got to post. A review of an art technique book I got recently. It is a total treat. highly recommended. and before I give all my cupcakes away I’ll hush up and go back to my work.

Coming very soon! I’m working on a temporary tat of the Wings design as well as some of Happi Paper and the other Kyoot crew! Most definately Cupcake Mo! These will be released in a pack, but some will be given out as freebies at the up coming conventions!

Anime Expo mischief is in full swing. >:3 I’m cooking up a give-away that would involve Happi Paper temporary tats and possibly a free shirt at the booth or some other freebie…bonus points if you put the temp tat on your forehead. Mwahahahaha!!!

I’m also working on a tut/link collection of some of my favorite reference sites that I use for artwork and inspiration. good stuff!
