The Best How to Draw Manga, Anime, Fantasy Books
I’ve got a ton of How to Draw Manga/Anime/Comics/Fantasy/WhatHaveYou books. They are part of my vast collection of material covering many different walks of art and design. I revisit all of them periodically, but several of them more than others. I thought I’d share some of them here and give my two-cents as to why I think they are topnotch and why I keep coming back to them! (Yes I’m lazy and just grabbed pics from Amazon instead of scanning my own copies. Oh! Click on the pictures! They link to Amazon listing for each book. )

NYAF Moves to September? O_O Happi Paper Plushies!
We got the email a day or so ago announcing the big move from December to September for NYAF. I dunno how to feel about it. I really liked seeing New York in the Christmas season, but putting the convention in September would be so much cheaper on hotels and stuff. At least they were nice and didn’t put it on the same weekend as AWA…it’s the one right before. Blargh. But that’s ok.
Movement is happening on the plushie front! I’ve been saying that for ages, but it actually is happening now! I’m getting ready to submit my prototype sketches to the manufacturer and in a week or so I should have pics of the sample before we go into production! Yaaaaaay! Just in under the wire too. We should have them in time for the summer conventions with the debut set at Anime Expo.
