Running for a Reason :)
Later this month (on the 30th!) I’ll be taking part in the Houston EP5K in order to raise funds for the Sunshine Kid’s Foundation. This organization focuses on bringing fun and special activities to children with cancer. Their mission is to help spread the joys of life and help make a child’s battle with this horrible disease a little easier. In keeping with that theme I’ll be running the race as Happi Paper! O_____O It’ll be my first official “run” in costume. I normally run 3 miles no sweat, but in Happi is another question. I just hope it won’t be raining. 
Anyhow! Happi needs sponsors!

Blog/Author Malfunctions July 2009 Edition
Hahahaaaaaa whoops! Alright so if you’ve noticed that all of my June wallpapers were down…gomennasai!! I had the brilliant idea to try and combine the two different gallery systems I have running on here and instead of copying files over from one to another I just moved the major wallpaper files and poof! There they went, breaking my inline links in the process. -.-;;; Everything should be back in working order now. I’m going to do my Expo coverage blog tonight and will have some extra freebies to post as well. I’ve been riverdancing with new layouts for both Kendra and my blogs for a while, and I’m hoping to send those live sooner as opposed to later. I’ll also be making large leaps of progress on the webcomic and animation projects…so! Yay! Back to work.

Random Babbling

Alright. Greeting Cards are done, next up on the roster are cellphone charms + Jewelry etc. Woo. >_< Actually today I’m working on the Newsletter that hasn’t gone out for an embarrassing while. I should call it the monthly-ish letter. or quarterly-ish letter if I want to be brutally honest. 
I kinda want a tumblr…. 
Agggh! I have enough accounts all over the place! I don’t another one! but…. 
I want one…I could make it just a picture tumblr with my ad collection. I’ve collected some really fun ones from all manner of places…hrrrm.. 
I’ve got a new song running through my head. I’m really loving Taylor Swift’s Love Story. And…several others. I updated my nano the other day and am just loving it. Except that it is totally unorganized so when I’m running I’ll go from Kanye West to Mary Poppins. AND OH! I had it on shuffle the other day and on came ‘I’ll Make a Man out of You’ from Mulan and it was awesome to run to…but it’s never come on since and I never have the forethought to make a playlist before I start running. ARGH.
I need to go Christmas Shopping. I’m scared of the Mall though. I worked at Victoria’s Secret for a while (several years ago..) and I remember it being just beyond crazy. Lines and lines and more lines. Crowds and I don’t mix well, so I was happy to have a safe zone behind the cash wrap. Speaking of crowds, I don’t think my chest has ever tightened like it did trying to get to Owly’s table at SDCC. A walk that should have taken 2 minutes took 10+. 
The webcomic continues to fall behind. 
I’ve got a goal to update it with at least 5+ new pages next week. I might spread them out to every other day just to make myself feel like less of a slacker though… hehehee. ok! back to work!

Hurricanes and Tattoos
Well this has turned out to be quite an interesting week! Right now I’m waiting to be hit by Ike and spent most of this morning watching the waters rise over Galveston. I do not understand why people are still staying. The news crews are bewildered too! Apparently they had a lot of people down there taking pictures of the waves and surge like tourists. >_< good grief. Thankfully they closed the seawall to everyone but media now (and I think it’s been further closed just recently) as so if people want to be dumb they’ll have to do it at a distance and not risk getting hit by debris. It was weird driving home last night. Houston was on the light side in terms of traffic. I’m charging my camera and my video cam batteries right now — It sounds bad but I’m really hoping to get some good cloud shots. Of course…the really good shots will probably be missed because I’ll be too busy running inside for cover at that point. LOL!! I’m on the west side of Houston out of range of all of the evacuations. I got a bunch of calls last night from my family and friends and assured them I was well prepared and good to go. Yesterday everyone worked on buttoning up the office. The last thing I did before shutting the lights off was turn my Snape picture towards the window. If that Alan Rickman baleful glare doesn’t stop the rain and winds, nothing will, right?

Secretly over MySpace, I have been in discussions with my sister about designing her a tattoo. (We figured Mom would kill us should she find out.) As it turns out, though, somehow the beans were spilled and I’m now designing a “family tattoo” for everyone — my sister, BOTH my parents and my nephew! \(^o^)/ When my Dad asked me about it, I was like “whut?” not sure if I should be in denial or secret cahoots, and then my sister got on the phone and told me they both wanted one too. I can’t imagine my mom in the tattoo chair though!!! It’s awesome but so funny at the same time! *^___^* At any rate, I’m super excited about it but also intimidated. I’ve got to create something that will work and even be custom for several different people, but have the same theme running throughout. At first (when I was only designing for her) I thought it would be cool to do something based around my sister’s family with all of the initials of her kids and her hubby, but now I’m thinking more along the lines of keeping that but making it different…like designing something that would show each member as a piece of the “family tree” with my parents being the roots…I dunno! *^__^* I’m still in the ideas stage and I brought home an extra sketchbook so I’ll be working on that for quite a bit. It’s going to be really cool.
Alright. Enough babble. I might update again tonight when the storm hits if I get some good pictures and still have internets.

Crave Cupcakes
Alright. If you live or visit in Houston and you love CUPCAKES…you must go to this place. Crave Cupcakes in Uptown Park. But don’t go too late in the day because they won’t have any cupcakes left. And go even if you don’t love cupcakes…because this place will make you love them. I’m dead serious!!! I’ve sampled gourmet cupcakes from many a major metro area (Billy’s Bakery is my fave in New York) and these have become my treat. It used to be Gelato Blu, (which is still uber, btw. Go there too.) but I’m on a cupcake kick. I’m pretty particular on what I like. A butter frosting is ok, but if it tastes like I’m eating a stick of butter then I scrape it off. Also if there’s too much icing…if that happens I cut the top off and take part of the icing and put it on the bottom and turn one cupcake into two. This place has gotten it just right. And they do breakfast cupcakes too! It’s like a donut in a cupcake cup. So yes. Gogogo!
On a responsible note I’ve updated the webcomic with a page on……………a cupcake with legs. More to come very soon too!

A lot of words about Nothing At All. :3
Haha!! What a week it’s been! This is an in progress snap of the illustration I’ve been working on. It involves more characters than just these three but I thought the idea of a Polaroid snap was too good to pass up. *^__^* The sound effect at the bottom is ‘kashiya’ which is the sound effect for a camera snapping a picture in Nihongo. I might do a whole series of these and arrange them all on a background. That sounds like a fun idea. If i could include sound effects I SO would! Landlord has this distinctive grumble/miaow/protest whenever I pick her up…I imagine it’s what she’s saying in this pic when Fat is dragging her unwillingly into the photo. silly Lord.
Woo! Lots of things going on…including me blogging in more than one place but whatever. I blog where and when the mood strikes, and the mood has struck here tonight since it’s been so long. >3<
Oh!!! New webcomic posts are coming!! and that’s not just me blowing smoke!! I’ve already drawn one of them and have the pre-sketches for the following set ready to go. so YEAH! look for those. and I think instead of babbling about nothing I’ll go and work on those.
